VOC's

Volatile Organic Compounds is a general term that includes all organic compounds likely to be present as a vapour or gas at normal temperatures. These compounds are present in inks and cleaning products normally used to clean presses.

To reduce the overall emissions of VOCs from printing all solvent use has been minimised and substituted with other less volatile products wherever possible and vegetable-oil based inks introduced. This has reduced our VOC emissions considerably and we are investigating ways of eliminating them entirely.
